In the final of the Men’s Singles event MA Long CHN won against Ma Lin CHN 4-2: 11-3, 4-11, 5-11, 11-8,11-5, 11-6 and he achieved his first ever Men’s Singles title on the ITTF Pro Tour

Austria’s Veronika Heine won the Under 21 Women’s Singles title at the Salwa Cup Kuwait Open .She played the final match against BARTHEL Zhenqi GER 4-1: 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-6,11-9.CHO Eon Rae KOR won the Under 21 Men's Single title at the Salwa Cup Kuwait Open . He played the final match against OVTCHAROV Dimitrij GER and he won 4-1: 7-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-4,11-6,

In Mens Under 21
Mishari Al Baghli (KUW) lost against Hamed Bu Haji from Bahrain 0-3 . It was a very difficult match for both the players. The score were 11/8 , 11/7 , 11/5 . Al Baghli also lost from GRIGORYEV Artur (RUS) 0-3 , The score were 11/7 , 12/10 , 11/6 . Al Baghli tried his best to equalize in the second match but the Grigoryev from russia was able to win the match . Essa Al Kandari (KUW)lost against URBANEK Jan CZE 0-3 The Score were 11/1 , 11/8 , 11/4 . Al Kandari also lost from FREITAS Marcos (POR)
0-3 , The score were 11/3, 11/8, 11/5 .

A new era dawned in Kuwait

A new era dawned in Kuwait on Tuesday 20th February 2007; for the first time female players represent the national association an ITTF Pro Tour tournament. Manwa Majed Al-Shamari and Fajr Ali, both seventeen years old, competed in the Under 21 Women’s Singles event at the Salwa Cup Kuwait Open. Understandably they suffered defeats but their participation signifies a step forward for female table tennis in the Gulf area of the world.

The Open Ceremony of Salwa Cup was a great sucess . The President of Youth & Sport Dr.Fuad Al Falah and the vice President Sheikh Talal Al Fahad Al Sabah , Adham Sharara ITTF President and all the Sport leaders were really exited in the open Ceremony. Bashar Al Shaty sang a great song along with Nawal for Salwa Cup . It was a great Open Ceremony .

Sheikh Daaej Fahad Daaej Al Sabah - Vice President for Kuwait International Table tennis championship ( salwa cup ) ,Said this is a very big sport event and it is honor for kuwaiti sport . More Than 200 players from 40 country will participate in this tournament . Salwa Cup is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammed Al Ahmed Al Sabah . This Tournament will be held on 19th till 22 feb 2007 . Salwa cup is one of the important tournament in International Table Tennis Federation calender . Salwa cup table tennis tournament reminds us of Sheikha Salwa , We pray to Almighty God to bless her soul with mercy.

The tournament will be held in Qadsia Sporting Club at Fajhan Hilal Al Mutairi Hall . All the famous players will participate in this tournament . Ma Lin from china will participate in Men Single ,he won the last championship in Kuwait. Jiang Huajun from Hong Kong will also participate , she won the Single Women Championship In Kuwait.
